the dog days are not over...yet!

i shall return with a post about the trip to the amazing city of new orleans

it's been a rough week in real life job world.
my brain keeps screaming GIVE UP! GIVE UP!
so i need a little inspiration.
THANK GOODNESS it's almost Friday!

the therapist needs therapy
(that should be title of a book- if it's not already)
what do ya think? lol

~ music really helps ~
{and crying and talking about punching people- hehe ;)}
i find inspiration in music ALL the time, but sometimes when i'm having a bad day...i like the music that is inspired by the same thing - a really crappy day. i can find humor in this and it makes me feel better.
i put on really angry hip hop (i.e. Luda's "Get Back") and sing all the explicit lyrics (shh..)

between graduating undergrad and beginning grad school i worked in a restaurant as a waitress (everyone should do this at least once in their life!). on nights when i was really in the weeds,  i sang softly to myself while putting dinner orders into the computer  Fall Out Boy's "Sugar We're Goin' Down"  it made me smile because it fit the situation (in my head at least) and there was a running joke between me and my friend amanda that that song was stalking me! i still sing it sometimes when i'm really overwhelmed over stupid stuff...it makes me smile for the memories at least!

'We're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded God complex, cock it and pull it'

lately i've really been into a lot of stuff just making to mainstream radio

Florence and the Machine
Dog Days of Summer is great driving through open fields about to be harvested music

&
mumford & sons

you MIGHT recognize Little Lion Man
Disclaimer: these guys are kind of oddly dark

Thanks for letting me have a crazy moment and vent!
Love,
Stephanie

  1. Hi! Following from BF.

I like the Mindy Glehdhill song you have on here. I also really like Mumford and Sons, lately. I love his voice... there's something very rustic and honest about it.
