SHARING

I guess {SHARING) my body with someone so adorably cute isn't so bad. . .

You may have already seen the photo of me from last week with a little different twist, but these ultra sound photos are from yesterday's appointment. It didn't go quite as planned (or hoped) but I guess now I can say it was successful.
I FAILED my glucose test (160 is not good news!) so I have the privilege of enduring a 3 hour test on Monday morning. I really hope I pass this one and don't have Gestational Diabetes, however, this has made me realize that I probably do need to really watch what I eat. I went so long not being able to eat ANYTHING unless absolutely necessary, that now I just want to eat what I want...including candy and other sweets. I really haven't gained that much weight, so I wasn't really that worried about.
MYTH of pregnancy #1: you get to eat whatever you want...BUSTED!
Not that I really believed it...but that's how it's glorified on TV. . and of course everything you see on TV must be true!

I also had to get a RhoGam shot (OUCH!) and apparently I have a symptomless bladder infection. (sorry TMI?) So now I have to be on antibiotics.

None of this is beyond normal for pregnancy, but I did have a little break down after a 1, 2, 3 blow within a 30 minute appointment. You just want to do everything RIGHT and sometimes I feel like I'm just getting it all wrong!
Pregnancy can be scary, but so wonderful at the same time.

Seeing the little guy (with his feet ALL UP ON MY bladder-which is wear I always feel him kicking) was more memorable than all the other stuff. Seeing him do gymnastics while everyone in the room laughed was really fun. We now have stories to tell and what I will be engraved in my long term memory is that at 26 weeks, Jonah was already entertaining us by trying to put his feet in his mouth (or so it looked like) but instead kept hitting himself in the face with his feet and hand. Silly boy!

I really wish I had a video!

  1. Sorry you had to hear about several bad things in such a short period of time! At least your baby's healthy and you know what's wrong so you can fix it. :) I understand your feeling of getting it all wrong, but that's definitely not true! You're doing what you believe is right, and even when you do exactly what you're supposed to, sometimes things go wrong. I'll be praying that your next appointment is better and that the news is good. :)

  2. Those ultrasound photos are so sweet. I failed my first test many years ago (my son will be 16 soon), but I passed the 3 hour one. I hope it goes well for you.

  4. Pregnancy can be so difficult at times but it is all worth it. Glad you had a chance to see the little one in action.

  5. Visiting from B&W Wednesday. I hope you will keep pushing forward (no pun intended), your pregnancy is a joy, please enjoy no matter what the news; you can overcome. Some of us were never able to deliver full term, so we think only of the joy we missed; and I love seeing a pregnant woman and the thrill of anticipating a newborn. Hope all goes well with your final months! You tell a beautiful story in your pictures.
