The Wilde Olive Blog: Wednesday Words {and a few photos}

Wednesday Words {and a few photos}

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

So, for a quick update from this post last week. I did not pass my Glucose Tolerance Test (I was actually abnormal all three hours) and they have determined that I have Gestational Diabetes. According to Baby Center between 2-10% of women develop it, so it's one of the most common health problems to have during pregnancy (I only have ONE of the multiple risk factors). I will go to a diabetic clinic on Friday to be shown how to do finger pricks and see a dietitian. I'm sure I'll post more on this later.

With all of that going on this week plus starting work on our new house, I haven't taken any photos this week! But I have been looking through some beach photos that I've yet to post from a few weeks ago and I found the cutest funny face shots of Emma (my niece) and thought I'd share!

AND my favorite!

Also for black and white Wednesday I wanted to share a photo of the hubs! He's been working so hard on our new old house. There is so much I want to do but can't because of this precious little man I'm taking care of . . .
So a big public THANK YOU to my hard working man!

  1. So yea, your niece is pretty much the cutest little thing!

    I know you might be stressed about the GD thing, but yall will be fine :)

  2. Love that last shot of your niece. So sweet.

  3. Oh my goodness your neice is cute! Love her red hair!

  4. These photos are gorgeous! Can't get over the pretty colors in those first three! They dais I had GD as well, but I only failed one marker by one point and had eaten late the night before because Matt took too long grilling, LOL! Anyhow, I did the finger pokes and the carb counting and all that good stuff. It isn't fun, but you get used to it! I had lots of good info at the time... I am sure you will get good stuff too, but if you need anything let me know :) Hang in there, mama!

  5. Oh- I just love that last one. SO creative!
