The Wilde Olive Blog: A little tutorial fun!

A little tutorial fun!

Ashley & Branson began Tutorial Tuesday this week they are using this lightbox tutorial.I decided to do a mini lightbox. I used tissue paper (like from a gift) for the filters and just printer paper since my box was so small and I didn't want to go out and buy anything. I think it worked pretty well.

All I could think of was food (and flowers - but it was raining) to try my light box out, but now seeing others that have tried it...I could have been a little more creative. . . and the baby sandals barely fit.

For this week's Edit Me Challenge we have this little cutie:

For the edit I used LR & CS5.
I tweaked Fill Light, Exposure, and Brightness until I got an effect I was fairly happy with. I used noise reduction, sharpening, and adjustment brushes. Then I used one of my favorite actions PTM's Hiest.

And just for fun

I need a little more practice with my white space tweaking... any tips?

By the way bloggers did you see Sarah's Button Alignment Tutorial? I found it very helpful!

  1. Love your pretzel shot! And your edit me is awesome! What I am really sitting here thinking, though, is how cute would it have been to photograph each pair of tiny baby shoes and make a little book? LOL! They wear them for such a short time! Anyhow, I liked this tut from Ashley on the white space editing:

  2. Great shots!!
So many link ups this week are featuring a lightbox so I think that's my cue to make my own.
I love the pretzels and the strawberries (LOVE strawberries and their colour).
    And your little one... beautiful!

  3. your "edit me" is really beautiful!

i love the pretzel shot, overall i love your photography.

thanks so much for those great tips, and have a great weekend!

  4. great shots, I really love your pretzel shot! Love your strawberries too! As for white balance tweaking, do you ever use presets? MCP Actions has some free lightroom presets for white balance and one of them is called "best guess white balance." I almost always like what it does, and if I don't I still use it and then tweak it from there, because it always gets me closer! here's a link for them if you're interested! Thanks for linking up to Tips & Pics!

  5. Really nice shots. The strawberries look delicious and beautiful! Lovely edit of the baby boy too!

  6. These are all great! Love your edit for the Edit Me challenge. And those strawberries look so good!

Thank you for linking up with Wild & Wonderful Wednesday!

  7. You've done a great job with all your photos - I really like those strawberries!
