{mom}ents: Just another backyard photoshoot & video laughter

Monday, March 5, 2012

These photos I took about a week and half ago. It was 80 degrees and I'd been questioning if Jonah could still wear this outfit - it was his coming home from the hospital outfit..and yes it's newborn and he's four months old. I never really got to take any pictures of him in it when he wasn't all wrapped up. So, I put it on and headed to the backyard after work.
Sweet Shot Day

I waited to post them because, well, they really needed some editing. It was after 5 o'clock and you can probably tell the sun is pretty much down. Then, I joined the Edit Me Challenge and thought the one below would be great for some portrait practice. So I got to see all the great edits done by others. Now, I want to share my own edit!

I was going to do this as a seperate post, but I just can't wait. So you can link up this week's {mom}ent below. If you don't know what a {mom}ent is head on up to the tab at the top of the page!

Thanks to my sweet sister, my lovely friend, and Kris from England - who has a REALLY cute blog for linking up with past week!
My {mom}ent:

This morning when dropping Jonah off, my mom asked as always about our weekend. She asked “did you laugh? Did you giggle?” The answer was of course “oooh yes!” After all what would a weekend be without a little laughter?

If you have little ones, isn’t their laughter the best sound you’ve ever heard? And their smile…well that’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen! We go to great lengths to make Jonah smile and laugh. And when we are worn slap out, he’s fussy, but just doesn’t want to go to bed that little laugh changes everything, especially when it comes out of nowhere. To say the least – we are lucky! This boy has as much personality as he does good looks! Yeah, you can tell he’s mine.

I just want so badly to burn these memories into my brain. They are special. Sometimes I still have to remind myself to just let him be and take it all in. I know his memory is just beginning to form, but I never want him to forget that we can just laugh together. When he’s a teenager and hates me for no apparent reason, I want to be able to close my eyes and see that sweet toothless smile stretching from ear to ear!

If you are having a bad day or just want to have a better one watch these videos and just TRY not to smile!

This one is of my niece Emma "gettin" him! Oh how he loves her.
you're welcome.
