The Wilde Olive Blog: Sprout Foods Toddler Snack Review and Giveaway

Sprout Foods Toddler Snack Review and Giveaway

Monday, June 17, 2013

When we were contacted about trying the new Toddler Snacks from Sprout Foods, I didn't even think twice about saying yes. yes! yes, please send me some free snacks! Because well who turns down free food? not this family.

My relationship with Sprout Foods goes back further than they knew when asking me to give these goodies a try. You see a few years ago Tyler Florence came out with this cook book: Start Fresh: Your Child's Jump Start to Lifelong Healthy Eating and my sister bought it to assist her in making baby food and healthy meals for my  niece when she was a wittle bitty one. These recipes have been shared between myself, my mom, and my sisters. Not only did we love it because of the yummy healthy kid friendly recipes but it gave us ideas and the confidence to try different foods with our babies! My favorite is the Meatloaf Cupcakes! I actually made them and froze individually and reheated for Jonah (or myself) at meal time.

So, anyway even after purchasing some Sprout Foods Products for Jonah, I never knew the connection with Tyler Florence until doing research recently! You can read about Tyler and Sprout's heritage here.

Now, onto the snacks!

We are a big fan of to-go packs of snacks. Jonah  (as much as I hate it) eats some form of packaged snack just about everyday. I have managed though to keep these to a minimum when I can using them mostly for bribery purposes, BUT when I know something is good for him and doesn't have a bunch of hidden/empty calories and is providing him with an essential nutrient, I don't hate it so much, or even at all!

I was not surprised that he loved these! He's has always been a great fruit and veggie eater (mostly because I've tricked him into not knowing any different) but recently he's been asking me for "cries" as in french cries. Oh what a failure I am! Quick and easy comes with a price and while I feel it's fine to eat french fries every once in a while, it's not okay for them to be the only side dish to every meal.

I have yet to open a pack of Sprout Toddler Snacks that haven't been completely gone at the end of sitting (or standing at the table eating time which is what jonah prefers most days).

I even tried the Raspberry Yogurt Bites - Yum! You can't beat 25 Calories a pack either!

And guess what! You can try them too - for free!
