The Wilde Olive Blog: the last little bit

the last little bit

I feel summer slipping away. Even with the temps still in the 90's, everything is just screaming "here comes Fall." I hear the marching bands practicing, the news is filled with Friday Night Lights. we are planning trips to Starkville for home games, we are stocking up on Fall clothes in the next size up.

While I love when seasons bring something new, I still feel a sadness like something is ending. Every summer feels like a chapter in life. What memories did we make? What did we discover about ourselves this year? Did we really make the best of it. This summer was busy. We have worked hard and haven't had all that much time to play. That's why three weeks later, I'm just now posting our pictures from our day at the lake. I think I said last summer, that I'd come here more and yet this was our first trip. At least it was a memorable one. I wish it wasn't so short.

You can see the first part of our trip to Yogi here and last year's trips here and here (ahhh Jonah's so little!)

  1. Beautiful pictures and beautiful little boy! Looks like you had a really great day at the beach. Summer is slipping here too, although our Septembers are usually pretty nice. I can tell the days are getting shorter... sigh...

I would love it if you would share this or another photography post with us at Photog Show and Tell link party.

Thank you and have a great week!

  2. Beautiful pictures ! Summer is truly never long enough. :/

  3. I feel also a bit weary and blue facing the last warm days of the summer ... You have a bunch of lovely and cheerful Pictures from your summer!

  4. Oh, I know what you mean, the feeling of sadness! I only have one child (he's almost 2), its just crazy how time flies, and it seems like it was just last September and my boy was just learning to walk. Now he's a little boy :( But time goes on I suppose.

Love, LOVE your boy's little buddha belly! I am so glad that is the last thing to go as they get older! My kid is pretty slim, but he still has a cute baby belly. So cute! These photos are beautiful, thanks so much for sharing them at Photog Show and Tell!
