Just a quick note before the post: Behind the Camera and Dreaming now has an official Facebook page, so please head over and like it! You can also find me on twitter, instagram, and follow this blog and all your favorite blogs on bloglovin'! Oh and I almost forgot Pinterest - I've been pinning like crazy the past few days!

This is kind of an extension of yesterday's living room tour post, but it's something I've been wanting to post for a while aaand since jonah decided to totally photo bomb my home tour and take ALL the books off the shelf as I was trying to photograph it, now is as good of a time as any! Right?

When I first created this little "nook" or reading corner, Jonah would pull all of the books off every time we sat down there, he'd also do this at my mom's house on her low shelves. Now he only does it occasionally. I guess Saturday was just my lucky day! =)

To be honest, I have a little trouble with the kids toys out in the open all over the house. I want my common rooms to be easily cleaned up. I also don't want things that are breakable on the bottom shelves, so this is our in between. I fell in love with these floor pillows last Christmas at Target and coaxed my mom into adding them in as a Christmas gift for "us" and we have put them to good use! the baskets and the gold couch pillows from yesterdays post are from Lowes (they just happened to be the perfect size for our space)!

Jonah loves to read books and always has. He's a little more into the ruff and tumble toys these days, but will sit for a book anytime. At night when he's not quite ready for bed, a suggestion of a book goes a long way. With this nook on his level, he can just go and pick one out. It is so cute when he does. I'm always excited to see what he picks!

These days some of our favorites are pretty much any puppy books (Snuggle Puppy
,Any Biscuit Book, & The Poky Little Puppy), Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes also known as the "baby book" this is a must have from birth, and we really love Little Blue Truck, and more often than not at bed time he wants "my bible book" aka My Toddler Bible by Bethan James - I LOVE the illustration in this book. There are more favorites that come and go too, but I'll save those for another time. I love what he winds up calling them (Goodnight Moon is "the cow book").

  2. That's so fun! I can't wait until my baby is old enough to pick out books. I already have so many for her, but she's not quite old enough to be interested yet. =]
