I have been scouring the internet, mostly amazon for inexpensive but unique gifts for Jonah's second birthday. I want him to have toys that last, are unique, that he will play with for a long period of time or if he gets tired of them he can pick them up 6 months from now and they are still age appropriate. I came across Hape toys back before Christmas and love their designs. I've been wanting to expand Jonah's play kitchen with a few more accessories because he loves to pretend. These toys could not be more adorable and made of solid wood seem pretty durable! I'm looking forward to playing with my little chef.

6 Etsy , ZÜM-CX Balance Bike
While at the Flea Market on Saturday, I came across two larger sized vintage toy trucks and scooped them up for $5 each Jonah will get them each one day this week leading up to his birthday. I found a few similar (that I'd like to also get on etsy). I have been wanting to get him a balance bike, but have been waiting until I felt he was old enough. We haven't gotten this yet, but it will probably be a Christmas gift because bikes are best on Christmas morning right?

I have been a big fan of Melissa and Doug toys for years. I discovered them while working as a children's therapist and bought a few items for my office. They are durable, easy to clean, and imaginative. I always come back to Melissa and Doug. Jonah loves dump trucks and tractors and how cute are these little wooden ones! He's also always asking to draw and for paper. How cool is this dispenser? Bonus it wouldn't look awful just sitting to the side on a spare tabletop or kitchen counter. Their art supplies are super affordable too.
And last but not least , last year, I bought him this Lukas Doll by HABA. I wanted him to have a human -like doll that he could play with interactively, starting with identifying his eyes, nose, hair, shoes, etc. That didn't exactly happen immediately. He actually didn't care that much for Lukas until about 3 months ago and now they are thick as thieves. He is his bedtime and sometimes playtime companion and I love it. Lukas is also one of the few boy dolls that is soft enough for a one year old with human-like features.
