We've made it to the end of January! Congrats to all my fellow Project 365ers for making it a whole month! How did you do? What were the challenges you faced?
For me the biggest obstacle is time and lighting. I've said this over and over, but because I'm gone from home most of the daylight hours, I'm disappointed in a lot of the shots I get around the house at night, but have been trying to experiment more with lighting techniques and embracing the more moody side of photography - which I really love when other people do it.
I have seen from many of you that one of your goals is to print more photos. Have you done it yet?
My personal photo goals are to start making some books to keep on our shelves filled with our family memories. I LOVE to go through my parent's photos albums. Love. Something else I have tried to do over the past couple of years is to also send a few photo greeting cards throughout the year to close friends and family. I always do Christmas of course and then a little Valentine and for Jonah's birthday invitation, I have made the invitation on one side and just a photo on the other so that it can hang on the fridge, a bulletin board, or be framed well beyond his birthday. This year for Valentine's Day, he will be in his Mother's Morning Out class and of course we'll have to hand out valentines because it's just too fun! So, I've been playing with the designs on Minted and have come up with some that I love! Now I just have to decide which one to order. I thought I'd share my choices with you here and see which one you like! I'll have to order soon to get them in time to celebrate with his class on the 13th!
I added the bible verse instead of a "To:_____". I love that these are so customizable. I used minted for most of my client's this holiday season and everyone loved how their cards turned out.

Now here's what you actually came for, last week in photos:

24|365 Today, I didn't get a purposeful photo for 365 today because I had a client session and like to keep my cards clear. It would have been smart to go ahead and take and load a photo that morning, but lazy Saturday..you know. So, I had to decide - use a client photo? or a iPhone photo. I decided on posting a photo of little Will because I have been photographing him for a year and he really has become almost part of my routine. Every few months I get to meet up with him and his family and capture who he is at the moment! I just love this shot.
25|365 There are some projects coming your way soon and as I was photographing them on Sunday my favorite little subject was up for some modeling... only because I did not make him brush his hair or change his clothes. Sometimes he asks for his picture to be taken - mostly when I'm pointing the camera at a different subject!
27|365 Late Night Dance Party
28|365 Snow Day! We get maybe one a year, so I am super excited to capture it and stay home and snuggle. You can see a few more photos from the day here.
