Fabric Flower "Love" Wreath

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

I recently turned my Christmas Wreath into my Valentine's wreath in a few super simple steps. If it weren't for my sister getting a Silhouette Cameo, I probably wouldn't have even thought to cut out letters, but it just makes it so easy. I wish I could bring it home with me. Even if you don't have a silhouette - like most people - you can just trace a favorite bold font and cut the letters our yourself.

I have to admit that I've used this same foam wreath and keep changing it up because I'm too cheap to buy a new one. It was my independence day wreath, then I turned it into my Christmas wreath and now with some slight changes my Valentine's wreath.

Materials:

  • Foam Wreath
  • Burlap Ribbon (not necessary for this tutorial, but I will like it wrapped since the wreath is bright white)
  • Scrap Fabric
  • Straight pins
  • Twine
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • scissors
    • All I did to change it up was to pull out the old (not so) greenery and feathers, pull a flower and pin out, put the twine under it and put your pin and flower back in making sure the twine is secured.
    • Then I attached the letters to the twine with tape on the back, however I recommend using a hot glue gun to make sure it stays in place.

How to make fabric flowers:

I realized after I started to write this post that I couldn't find a tutorial for fabric flowers that looked anything like my loose ruffle-like flowers to reference. So, I decided to make a short video showing you how to do it! Please excuse the quality and my looks. It's about 11pm.

Happy Creating!
