Catch the Moment 365 | Week 31

Friday, August 8, 2014

Last week was a hard week for us. You may have read (if you've been here at all you most likely did) that my grandfather passed away last Wednesday. So, this week in photos kind of have that hanging over them. I wrote a post of memories and what it's been like for me over the past few weeks here.  Thanks for going on this journey with us and allowing for a little time away.

210|365 Since I found out as I was just about to turn the shower on last wednesday morning, I did not pick up my camera or take an iPhone photo that day at all. Instead I decided to include a photo of my grandfather from my wedding nearly six years ago. I was so happy that he was able to make the trip with us. It was probably one of the last time he traveled any distance. He was mostly a homebody over the past several years and I don't blame him!

211|365 In light of everything going on plus my husband beign out of town last week, my mother in law came to help out with the J Man. He loves his MeMe and soaked up every bit of one on one time with MeMe that he could!

212|365 Shirtless Popsicles on Friday evening... can't ask for much more.

213|365 There is no better way to document this day than to show you a picture of Jonah and Emma on their first 4-wheeler ride at Grandma's. They are still in there dress clothes and it's raining... only at grandma and papa joe's is this allowed! They look like teenagers.

214|365 I took a couple of flowers from the funeral home and thought I'd photograph this beautiful yellow rose my grandmother chose for the burial flowers. So much detail and beauty. Isn't God creative?

215|365 Monday, we returned to our routine. I had a doctor's appointment and all went well, except getting soaked on the way out to my car. So, later I thought I'd capture our melancholy hydrangeas. They are so dried out from the heat, but there is still beauty there even when their blooms are about to fade for the season.

216|365 and this seems really random after the rest of our week... but we have been having some major potty struggles lately. I have been really challenged with a stubborn little boy who, a month ago, I would have called potty trained. More on this later.. it deserves it's own post, but little boy undies are super cute!

There you have it! Our week in photos! Thanks for stopping by!

Every Friday SarahMindi, and I host a place for photographers of all kinds to share, explore, grow and connect. Our common goal: one photo, every day, for three hundred and sixty five days. Whether you are using a fancy smancy professional camera, your first DSLR, a point and shoot, or your ever-so-handy phone camera, we want to see your photos! We want to see the moments you caught each day. How amazing will it be to see each of us accomplish something that seems so big? For more info on how to join in start here. (more after the link up)!

  5. I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Your grandfather looks and sounds like a sweet man. I love the yellow rose, and the hydrangea. The photos are both sad and beautiful. I LOVE the pic of the kids on the four wheeler. The colors, their clothes, their expressions. It's amazing.
