Antipasto Skewers

Monday, November 23, 2015

We have a tradition in my family, MY family of origin... my mom, dad, sisters and the rest of our crazy broods, that's not so traditional, or I don't think so anyway. On Christmas Day, or close there by, we get together to exchange gifts and to have our Christmas Lasagna. Nope, we are not Italian, not even a little bit, but we love Mama's Lasagna. Really though, we started that tradition by not knowing what to cook (inspiration found here) and wanting to have something that wasn't the same old Southern cooked ham, sweet potatoes and everything else we'd been eating since Thanksgiving and will have again at Easter. So, our solution (my mom's - I can take no credit) is a little something different than every other dinner table on Christmas night.

Add something a little different to your holiday table this year! Antipasto Skewers with Mezzetta make the perfect festive appetizers and the recipe is so simple! Easy, real food.

Although, we may be eating something a little different, doesn't mean the amount of food available to us is any different. I thought these Goat Cheese Antipasto Skewers would be great as an appetizer to add to the table before our our "traditional" Christmas meal.

This appetizer is so easy and basically, you can just clean out your fridge with whatever you have, drizzle a little olive oil on it and scarf it down. Here's what you'll need to make it my way though:

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

Gather ingredients. Make sure your goat cheese is still fairly solid from being in the refrigerator before you begin or it can get messy! Slice goat cheese. Add all ingredients in the pretty order. =) Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with rosemary or other herbs!

  2. We like to serve a bunch of appetizers on Christmas Even instead of a full dinner. These would be a perfect addition to our spread!
