Ari. Our first born.
If you haven't "met" the oldest man of the house, this is Ari, He's a Lab/Chow mix (as far as we can tell) that we rescued from the mean, cold streets of rural Arkansas 7 years ago last month. He was 7-8 weeks old at the time, cute, sweet, and covered in mange. We should have never kept him in our apartment lifestyle, but it worked out and he's still waking us up at 3 am to tell us there's a cat crossing the street or just because he's bored. I am telling you. no. one sleeps in our house, but we are thankful that he protects us from all the bad guys!
If you've ever read the book or watched the movie, Marley and Me, then you know Ari, because he is our Marley. I don't look forward to him getting older, he is helping us raise our boys one spilled bowl of cereal at a time. Ezra and Ari are BIG buddies. They get in all kinds of trouble sharing crackers and dog treats. lol (yes you read that right - insert eye roll and laugh/cry emoji)
linking up on photo friday

Our doggies are rescues too and are now over 8 years old, I don't want to think about their senior years just yet either. Ari is a stunner!
ReplyDeleteWe had rescue dogs growing up and they were amazing. You really captured his emotion and spirit in this photo! It is an amazing photo!

ReplyDeleteHe's beautiful. So glad to know you rescued him. The alternative is terrible to contemplate.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll come share Ari's photo at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/02/abstractions.html
Hi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet look in his eyes - And the fact that you did rescue him, makes him even more precious! We had a Labrador in my childhood, and I hope we could have a dog of our own in the future!
Have a joyful and peaceful weekend,
Nina
gorgeous! there is something special about a boy(s) and his dog! Don't worry about his age just yet...7 is still young...my last dog lived to 15 until I couldn't let her suffer any more...my oldest dog now is 10 (had her since she was 9weeks) and she is so damn sprightly, you would think she was about 5!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And so sweet.
