After I had Ezra, 16 months ago, I had a hard time recovering and I told myself I wasn't going to worry about how I looked, my weight, etc until I felt better and I have felt better and still I struggle with those few pounds that have come back, but I am trying to choose not to struggle. I want to do things that make me feel good because I am treating my body well. So, my goals for this year include being good to myself. The way I look at my body, feel in body, and what I put into my body have to improve. So, here I am saying out loud that next time I want to go through Steak Escape and get the loaded fries, I am going to just drive on to Smoothie King and get a shake instead. It's SO simple and costs LESS. That huge smoothie that I couldn't even finish up there was less than what I'd order at most drive thrus.
Wednesday after work, I met my husband at Smoothie King just near my work and we sat on the patio for a few minutes and drank our smoothies. It was nice.
He had the Greek Yogurt Strawberry Blueberry. I made him let me taste it and it was SO good. They use Chobani® Nonfat Greek Yogurt (my fav), Strawberries, Blueberry Juice Blend, Non-fat Milk, Vanilla Protein Blend, Electrolyte Mix, Fiber Blend.
I had the Almond Mocha High Protein (with a little extra Mocha). I loved it, but I think I should have had them "make it skinny." I'll know next time! That would put the 32oz under 400 calories and it's definitely a whole meal!
Writing this is making me want to go back tonight! I think I might. I can't think of a better treat on a Friday night for myself and for the boys. Have you seen the kid's smoothies? I know my little guys would love them.
So, while I'm working on being good to myself, I can in turn teach my children that being healthy and active is just a way of life and there's so much good and fun to be found in a healthy lifestyle!

Weight loss is dependent on each individual’s needs and is based on a low-calorie diet combined with an exercise program. Consult your physician before beginning any diet program.
Yum! I need to go try one of their smoothies. Just saw there are several locations near me. I'm surprised I haven't been in before. I bet they would make a great meal.
