Reason number one and number two. There they are with their silly faces, hearts filled with joy, and healthy little bodies.
Thank you God for my boys and their healthy little (wiggly) bodies.
I hate to say that I worry a lot but I do. Most of you know this but with both pregnancies, I had Gestational Diabetes, that thankfully resolved after each pregnancy with little to no effect to the boys. Ezra had a tiny bit of blood sugar maintenance issue at birth but it was so minor, it's barely worth mentioning. I was able to monitor my glucose often and stay with in my parameters pretty easily and I am thankful for modern medical developments that allowed me to have two healthy pregnancy.
Thank you God for the minor things that only help us appreciate
the wonderful things that much more.
It makes it that much more important to us that we give to others. Whether it's donating our money, our time, our talents. There is always something we can do. You know, something that I have learned over the years is that we are not powerless. It really feels that way a lot of the time... but if each of us just affects one and enough of us are putting our words into action, then think of the masses we could affect.
My example is obviously small and simple but even the simple things like giving just a few hours of your time at your child's school or local hospital could make a difference in someone's life. Continue reading for a chance to receive $100 to help you do just that.
Tell us why you give back? The Bakken Invitation was created to honor those who rely on medical devices while giving back to communities around the world. Do you have an experience with a medical device you'd like to share?

l am inspired by Andrea Volfova who is from the Prague, Czech Republic and has had cardiovascular disease and she says: CHOOSE LOVE AND COMPASSION, EVERY SINGLE TIME. How awesome! My brother also has a congenital heart defect and if it was not for modern medical technology he would not be here today!
ReplyDeleteAnd I give back to my community by Volunteering at the Food Banks and helping out during the food drives and I would donate this money to my local food bank.

I am very inspired by Twinkle’s story because I cannot imagine having to live with chronic pain. She not only has had to deal with this symptom of her medical condition, but she has used her life to raise awareness for CRPS/RSD and neuropathic pain diseases and disorders. Wow!
ReplyDeleteI give back to my community by donating clothing and personal needs to our local womens shelter. I do this because I know how fortunate I am to have more than I really need, and want to do what I can to help others.
Fortunately, at this time I am not living with medical technology.

ReplyDeleteI like to follow the bible verse, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". That's why I give back!
ReplyDeleteI’m a nurse so I’m constantly inspired by all of the fighters that I see every day. I wanted to become a nurse for as long as I can remember. My brother was in the hospital quite a bit and we always had nurses that went above and beyond. I knew that that was what I wanted to do when I was older. I loved reading all of the stories but was immediately drawn to Twinkle’s story and her quote “"WHEN YOU THINK YOU CAN'T, MAYBE YOU ALREADY HAVE." I think it’s so true, that everyone has those moments of doubt but before you know it, you find yourself crossing over that finishing line.

If I have something that I haven't used in a year or more, I donate it to someone who can use it. Be that clothes, furniture or appliances. I try to do what I can.
ReplyDeleteI give back because everyone deserves another chance. We only get one go at this life, let's make it count.
ReplyDeleteI love helping out because it feels good to help other people. I like making a difference in any way that I can and you meet so many different kinds of people while volunteering. I've met army vets and people that have either lost their way or just met some unfortunate situations. Every body needs a helping hand and I just hope that if I'm ever in that situation, someone would be able to do the same.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason I give back,is because it makes me feel good. I get a warmth inside me that is like nothing else. Being helpful is the true reward in life.
ReplyDeleteWe give back because it's the right thing to do and I want to teach my son that caring is sharing. Being able to put yourself in someone else's shoes, is becoming lost and that scares me.
ReplyDeleteI also give back to charities close to my heart. This month is Cerebral Palsy awareness month, and I spread the word the best I can. About 8,000 infants and babies are diagnosed with a form of Cerebral Palsy every year. I don't want others treating him differently. I want them to be educated enough that they understand what he's going through.
ReplyDeleteI studied psychology and parkinson’s disease was always something that I was interested in. David’s DBS shows just how far technology has come and I’m inspired by his upbeat personality.
ReplyDeletePaying it forward can reach so many people and spread love to people and places that truly need an uplifting moment. Thanks for this chance to share.
