A few weeks ago, I heard that Target had a line of Scotch Essentials Products (20% Off 7/10-7/16 on cartwheel) that I thought would be perfect to add to my camera bag or just to have on hand pre-photo sessions, just in case. Turns out they have come in even more useful than I thought!

Find them on the closet aisle by the way!
We set out to take some photos of me and the boys and I used the Scotch™ Essentials Adjustable Hem Tape to shorten the front of my dress, so that I wouldn't be stepping on it while chasing that wild little man during our shoot! This wound up being perfect since we were outdoors and I definitely didn't want to wear heels! It was super simple! Here are a few of my favorite shots from our little mini session:
Then I realized that I could use the Scotch™ Essentials Wardrobe Tape Strips and I definitely needed the Scotch-Brite™ Lint Roller! These are definitely making their way into my camera bag ( I blogged about everything I keep in there here).
Not only did I temporarily shorten my dress, I decided to permanently hem a pair of linen pants that I should be wearing this summer, but my job no longer allows for me to wear heels (since I'm no longer in an office). It was easier to show these pants since they aren't such dark fabric, but I basically did my dress the same way! Moms getting ready for photo sessions this Fall, follow these steps to make sure you have a flawless day where you can worry about your hooligans and not your clothing!
All you need is Scotch™ Essentials Permanent Hem Bonding Strips and an iron. You could so use a ruler, but I'm a risk taker and didn't this time!
Step 1: Try on your clothing and mark your spot!

If you are wearing pants, cuff them to the length you would like. You want to put your shoes on and I prefer my pants to just barely brush the floor. If you will be wearing a dress or lower cut shirt take this time to assess all of your needs!
Step 2: Mark with disappearing ink or just a piece of chalk will work great too!
Step 3: Make sure your hems are even and for pants that they match each other! Then iron a crease!
Step 4: Turn your clothing item inside out!
Step 5: Following the instructions on the strips, remove and place as close to your crease as possible for a nice blunt hem.
Step 6: Fold the hem over and press firmly.
Try on and test out the length! You are photo-ready!
I hope these simple tips will help you with your next chance to get in front of the camera with your hubby or your little ones! It's so important for you to be captured too at every stage of life!
