Fall Transitional Stitch Fix Surprise | Mama Style

Thursday, September 1, 2016

So guess what you guys... I totally forgot that I just pushed my Stitch Fix waaaay out instead of canceling it all together... oops. So, much to my surprise my friendly Fed-Ex man brought me a surprise. Unfortunately, it was the best possible way to kick off my transitional Fall wardrobe so I might need to sell a kidney soon. Do me a favor and if you've never tried Stitch Fix go ahead and use my link to sign up, so next time this happens I can say well... at least I have some credit to pay for all this wonderfulness. It's still only $20 and that goes toward your purchase when you keep something, then if you refer a friend, you get $25 in credit - so basically you are coming out +$5. Got that math? You are MAKING money by trying Stitch Fix.. or something like that.

Anyway, on with this foolishness of me trying on these clothes in my kitchen today.

That's my style sheet and my note from my favorite, best ever, stylist Kasey, who is really good at her job. Even after our Summer separation, she knows to give me all the flowy neutrals, maybe one pop of color, and gold jewelry.

Item #1: Gorjana Chloe Small Stud Earrings

I love small earrings with an interesting twist. These are my first Gorjana purchase and the packaging was awesome! I really loved their concept and need to stay off of their website before I buy all the layers!  I really loved these simple earrings that are easy to wear for me as a mom with an active 23 month old, but they still add a little stylish something.

Item #2 Daniel Rainn Shrewsberry Split Back Blouse:

This was the item I thought I would like the least once I got it on, but the fabric is really amazing feeling and it has built in layers, so there's absolutely no need for an undershirt!  This top has so many details but yet in the solid blue, it works as a good solid neutral. I think I would probably wear it through the fall and into the the cooler months with skinny black jeans and a patterned cardigan when it's cooler.

What do you think? Keeper?

Item #3 Liverpool Anita Skinny Pant

I actually have a pair of black pants by this brand, so I thought these would be kind of tight like the other ones. They were great to wear to work last winter and I was always layering so even though they were a little tight in the waist, I liked them everywhere else and wore them a lot! These though - they are olive green by the way if you can't tell. They have real buttons and pockets, etc and they fit like a glove. There's no gaping in the top but they aren't too tight anywhere. I think these will be a go-to for me this year and the color is SO me.

These pants are a size 6 by the way if anyone is interested in the fit of this particular brand! I'm not giving you my stats though. Mostly because I don't know them..

Item #4 Collective Concepts Ryleigh Pintuck Detailed Silk Blouse

Who doesn't love a light weight flowy black shirt? I mean, I don't think I actually NEED this shirt since I actually have one that's pretty similar. HOWEVER, this one looks better without anything over it. My other one is just sleeveless and kind of has large arm holes. this one is very modest without anything under or over! I love the shoulder detail too! It's the little things right?

Item #5 Market and Spruce Bernadette Lace Overlay Raglan Top

I never thought I would like this shirt on my body! never! I was wrong. It is SO soft! It feels like pajamas. It's casual but you could totally dress it up if you wanted to. I think it might show a little back fat but you know... problem areas. I really like it with the olive green pants too!

I can't believe it! All tops are size medium and all fit like they were supposed to. So basically this was a 5 for 5 experience after not getting a fix of about 5 months. I did just learn though, that Stitch Fix now offers exchanges! They would do that in the past if you contacted customer service, but now they offer it in the check out system. Sometimes clothing is just made differently than what you normally where and you have to go up or down a size to get the right fit! That has always been a challenge with Stitch Fix, challenge accepted! All the more reason to try it out if you are looking to up your style or just need someone to pick out clothes for you without having to drag your children to the store with you!

What do you think 5 for 5? Would you have kept everything for the 25% discount?
