Let's Go See | Mississippi Children's Museum | Jackson, MS

Saturday, July 22, 2017

We were invited to experience the Mississippi Children's Museum in exchange for sharing that experience here on Behind the Camera and Dreaming.

I will just go ahead and give you a warning. . . I took way WAY too many photos on the trip to the Mississippi Children's Museum. So, bear with me. I am going to try to pair them down as I go, but that's so hard for me!

It has been a while since we last visited Mississippi Children's Museum, so we were especially looking forward to spending the day exploring each and every exhibit. We covered a lot of ground in one day and there was still more we could have done! We left exhausted, in a good way.

There is SO much to do and we covered a lot of (age appropriate) ground. The last time we came, Ezra was too little for a lot of the activities that Jonah wanted to do, but I think that was about a year ago. They are definitely more on equal ground this summer even though there's a near three year age difference.

Week took advantage of so much the museum has to offer. We built sky scrapers, as you saw above. We built boats, went fishing, shopping at the Farmer's Market and took a little trip through our digestive system.

We unearthed prehistoric bones, captained a ship, and climbed to the highest heights!

We used our imaginations and learned about our state. We visited Curious George and all the traveling exhibit had to offer. Curious George may be have been the cutest part! It's definitely something you don't' want to miss!

We practiced out life skills, exercised and tested out limits! I was so impressed with how well Jonah did on the climbing wall! I guess gymnastics have really paid off.

We explored the dark of night and took advantage of the great outdoors!

The boys had such a great time! I can't wait for our next trip. I think next time we won't try to do quite as much because even though everything is right there in the same building, trying to do every activity was difficult. I could tell a few things were their favorites that we will try to focus on next time. I'd also like to spend a little more time exploring the outdoor fun, but we'll save that for Fall or try to get to the museum a little earlier in the morning to take advantage of cooler temps!

There are so many fun events and traveling exhibits to see each season at the Mississippi Children's Museum, for more information, pricing, and hours check out their website: http://mschildrensmuseum.org.
