I've gotten to do some editing this week just for fun and I thought I was kind of getting burnt out, but I think it's just being worn out these past few months. I seem to have a little more energy this week. Let's hope that sticks around a while!
Last week sometime, my friend Jessica asked me if I could edit a picture of her and her son, Asher. It is the sweetest moment captured, but a little blown out and little shaded in places.
I wasn't sure if I could really fix the blown out spots without it looking too gray, so instead I focused on removing the shadow to help even out the entire balance of the photo. I think it turned out pretty well.
It still has some blown out spots but I love the improvement and the moment captured is the most beautiful part. I went a little further once I got caught up and did a little cropping.
Then I decided to try a little black and white.
I did all the editing in Lightroom.
After doing these edits last night I was kind of in the editing mood, so tonight when I came across the Edit Me challenge on My Reflection of Something I decided to participate. I haven't been doing many any challenges lately, so this one was fun!

via ashleyplus3 edit by stephanie clark of behind the camera and dreaming I also edited this photo in Lightroom, then moved it over to CS5 to add the quote. I used the Soulshine Preset: Holy Night, which is one of my favorites. I adjusted it some to get it just right but I really like the old hollywood postcard feel it gives the photo. Hope you like it too! |
