WINNER! WINNER! Chicken Dinner Vanilla Bean Frappuccino?
This little photo won favorite on two blogs today!
I wonder how Em feels about coconut creme???
Even though this is not a design blog per say (okay not really at all), it is a place a showcase things I love and you all will be seeing a lot more home photos and posts over the next few months as we move into our new home! (yay). Those of us who go way back may remember that I posted a lot about last season’s Design Star on HGTV. I was a big fan of Emily from the beginning and I even got a reply when I posted on her blog (and of course felt super special). So, now that she’s heading into Season 2 of her show Secrets From a Stylist, I can’t help myself but encourage others to watch. The girl has great style, uses lots of vintage finds, and is completely relatable (and very witty!). She just seems like someone you become automatic friends with and it seems like she really tries to understand the client’s style. Saturday night season two starts at 8:30 Eastern (7:30 Mississippi time). Since I plan on spending my day Saturday looking for curtain and bedding fabric – a night filled with HGTV will be the inspiration I need to get started on these projects for the new house (especially the baby's room)!
Here is HGTV’s (corrected and interlaced with my thoughts) description of Season 2 Episode 1 Secrets from a Stylist:
In the season two premiere, Emily helps the Lus create a beach-chic bedroom. Culbert, Candice, and their adorable daughter Kelsey, have just moved in to their spacious Manhattan Beach home (BEACH STYLE YAY! – My fav!) and are having trouble decorating the one room they seem to spend the most time in - their bedroom. Enter Emily, with some stylist secrets and a brilliant bedroom concept that'll bring color and life to this boring second floor space. A tour of the room and a style diagnostic help Emily get started. The design plan: transform the Lus’ space, layer-by-layer, using coastal inspirations(!!!!). Her first look is a west coast beach theme. Traditional sand and sea colors, and lots of reclaimed wood (YUM), transform the Lus’ bedroom in to a pacific escape. For her second look, Emily infuses a bit of Cape Cod class.
Here are some of my favorites from Emily's Portfolio
Will you be watching Saturday Night 8:30/7:30 Central??? I will! at least set your DVRs.
