Capturing the Simplest of Moments

Isn't that what it's all about?
You can find so much beauty in the everydayand that's why I should pick up the camera a little more.
Lately, we've been so busy and when I have to ask "where is my camera?" it means I haven't picked it up nearly enough.

To me, the best moments to capture are those unplanned little times when we are just waiting on "Mama" to get off work and come get our girl. Honestly, I'm a little jealous that NaNa gets to do this all day and will get to do the same things with my own baby in just a few short months. She will teach him things that I cannot and we are very lucky that she just wants to be a NaNa.

I originally took the camera out to catch Emma rocking in her snail and singing Deep & Wide. I got a little of that, but what if she grows up to love playing the piano and these photos are the ones she cherishes the most? We will put them in a slide show when she graduates from that prestigious performing arts school. Maybe.
How preciously awesome would that be?
She might do many other things, but somebody along the way will remind her that she once loved to play the piano with NaNa when she was nineteen months old.

and then it was just me, my camera and the evening light coming in through the front window panes.
NaNa went to answer the phone and Granddaddy took Emma outside.
and there are still little moments for me to enjoy capturing with my camera...

I will probably never know how to play this particular instrument, but I can find beauty and beautiful memories in it all the same, from my childhood and on to the next generation.
