6 Months: Jonah is growing

Friday, April 27, 2012

This boy has surpassed all expectations of awesomeness! Just look at him - when did he get so BIG?
He's not really BIG (actually only 25th percentile - except that biggo noggin) but just so grown up!

  • He's sitting unsupported for unlimited amount of time now. An ole pro.
  • He can go from sitting to belly on purpose pretty easily now, but usually fusses after he gets there because he can't get back up.
  • He's eating well - rice, oatmeal, bananas, carrots, and we just tried some sweet potatoes this week!
  • Still taking 5 ounces of milk 5 times per day.
  • Drooling like CRAZY! No teeth yet though.
  • Sleeps mostly on his side (occasionally turns to his stomach and wakes up on his back)
  • He is so HAPPY to wake up in the mornings - even though I dread it for myself - it really is my favorite time of day with him.

  • He is VERY vocal. Lots of "Ha's, Da's, Ma's, Wuuu's, Mmm's, oos, and aahhs"
  • He laughs A LOT! and is very ticklish (neck, ribs, and feet are the best spots)! See video here.
  • He grunts and flaps his arms when he wants something, especially to be picked up.
  • Sitting in his highchair or bumbo, he amazes me at how far he can reach and the things he picks up or knocks over!
  • He still "runs" when he's really excited (in a lying down position if that makes sense)
  • He loves things that make noise. (toys that crinkle, have lights/music, rattles, keys, paper)
  • He's really good at shaking things.
  • He likes to splash and does so on his own in the bath tub (and in his plate of rice).

Six month check up!
16lbs 5ounces
26 inches
45 cm head circumference

We just love you so much Jonah man!
I want to freeze you how you are right now, but still can't wait to see what you do next!
PS: I have a small confession to make - just keepin' it real. In my post about Jonah's Nursery there is a beautiful photo of Jonah where everyone has commented on his eyes. They look SO crystal clear ocean blue, but really the photo above is more true to his real life eye color. I didn't alter them, but I think great natural lighting and some "oomphing" actions may have exaggerated them a little. They are still beautiful and I hope they stay so blue!
XOXO

  3. I was just typing and my comment disappeared! I apologize if I'm doing it again. Oh my, he is the cutest! I do remember editing his eyes and having problems because the second you added anything (saturation, contrast) they went off the charts! Oh, I wish I had that problem. LOL! He will love reading these updates when he is older. Good job, momma!
