The time keeps passing.

Thursday, July 26, 2012

I have been thinking a lot lately about time. We seem to long for the moment to pass or we want it to stand still, no matter what we are wishing for it, seems we have trouble just accepting what is. Yesterday when I came home from work and picking up Jonah I was standing at the back door, baby on hip, just looking at the the trees and the sun going down and had the thought that there will never be another today. Never again will it be July 25, 2012. The thought was fleeting but I keep going back to how time just passes. It's like one of those BIG questions that is only answered when we pass from this life to the next.

Then, it seemed time just moved on again. The floor needed to be swept and the baby needed to be fed and bathed. I needed to get a blog post up and finish editing a session with my nephew and oh yeah Jonah's 9 months post...I took pictures for that and have so many more to go through. There is just so much to do and the time just keeps on going. It's hard to accept at the end of the day that another day is gone, but then again sometimes we wish for it... "and this too shall pass".  Every weekday I wish for the weekend, but the weekend means another week has past and my baby is another week older and we are closer to the end of this chapter. Whatever chapter that may be.

Happy midweek rambles.
XO

  2. Great post. I've been trying to live my life a little more in this mindset lately, accepting and enjoying the moment and trying not to worry about what has been and what is to come. I often think that having children naturally puts you in a frame of mind where you want to live for the moment more and to enjoy every second and all the lovely little things that life brings. Thanks for another little reminder to live for now. X
