Five Years

Friday, November 8, 2013

Five years ago on this day we said I do. forever and ever amen. We had the best wedding and we still relive the moments of that day and our honeymoon that followed. We still talk about it like it just happened. I would so do it again! Maybe at 10 years we can do a vow renewal in the spot on the sand. We went back for the first time last year and I didn't really take the moment to really relive it, but Wesley did, I could see it on his face. The same face that I could barely look at during the ceremony because he was crying like a baby and he was not at all ashamed. That's just one of the reason I love him (it's maybe number 3 on the "why I love my husband" list just under addicted to pretty little liars and rocks Jonah to sleep every night!).

We aren't perfect, but we really love each other and no matter how our opinions differ at times, we work as a team. We've have been through a lot in our years as a couple. Some very very good times and some really awful times. We've seen each other in our highest moments and our lowest our most defensive and most vulnerable.

Marriage is about learning and growing as individuals and together. It's making a life that is led by truth, grace and understanding.  I have learned so much from Wesley and I'll take a leap and say he's learned from me too. I feel like we became adults together and are still growing as we break into our thirties.

So here's to many many more years of marriage, memories, and more love than our hearts can hold!
