The polar vortex finally made it's way to Mississippi. I love how magical snow is the first time you see it after not seeing it for so long. I love the excitement of bundling up and playing (for a few minutes at a time) in the snow. I love how it just seems to wipe everything clean and it makes winter really seem like winter. I love having something different and magical to photograph. It adds a little something special and a challenge for me because I'm not used to photographing snow. So, before Jonah even woke up, I slipped out into the yard with my camera.
Later, of course, I had to take him to experience it for himself. He loved it, but was fine going in to warm up after about twenty minutes (maybe a little longer). I was so proud of him for wearing his hat and gloves with no argument. We really had the best day, just the two of us.

After a good twenty four hours of snow magic though, I am ready for it to go. It's not so much the snow as it is the ice. We aren't equipped for driving in icy conditions and when living in Memphis and traveling to rural areas, I had a few bad experiences with ice. Experiences that cause me anxiety when thinking about driving in icy conditions and adding putting my baby in the car in those conditions. ack! Now, I'm ready for spring! Anyone betting on the Ground Hog next week?! Early Spring please!
