Happy Mardi Gras Friends! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Last weekend I, on a whim thought I'd make some beignets for breakfast as a treat. My mom made them this way for us as kids on random Saturday mornings and we loved it! This was my first time and I'd actually kind of forgotten about it until recently. These don't hold a candle to the beignets of Cafe De Monde nor do they claim to be healthy in anyway. Other than they make me happy!
Ingredients
- Canned Biscuits
- Oil (vegetable, canola or your favorite)
- Powdered Sugar
Instructions
- Cut your canned biscuits into 1/4 pieces
- Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in your skillet to about 350 degrees and carefully drop in several pieces of dough, using tongs, flip when the bottom side starts to brown.
- Remove from oil and roll in powdered sugar then let rest on paper towel until cool!
