I don't even know where to start on this post! This boy... I mean look at him. He's pretty awesome. He was so happy while taking these photos. After a few days (a week?) of illness, he is back. His smiles, his adventurous spirit and his playfulness! Since my sister was there when I started to take photos on the day he turned 11 months (Aug 29) I recruited her as my assistant. She does a great job at being my assistant. She's had over 30 years of practice... Anyway, he thought being chased around the yard so wild and free by his mom an his aunt was the best thing ever. He couldn't quit giggling! There were lots o blurry photos. Lots. I think I captured him though, so well, at this age!
Here are a few things Ezra has been up to since last month:
Eating
He learned to suck from a straw which means he can feed himself a squeeze pack! hallelujah! That's my favorite modern milestone, feeds self by sucking on a small tube. I still really enjoy making him food from scratch, but the pouches can be found in such good brands and yummy mixtures (I always taste them).
Does anyone have experience with making your own food to add to a pouch? I'd love to get some pouches, but I don't know anyone who has used them!
Sleeping
Sleep has been wanting around here. We get better for like a day maybe two then, it's like fruit basket turn over all. night. long. Hopefully, we will figure out the best routine for Ezra and get him sleeping through the night in his crib. I don't mind one wake up or even two but he doesn't not get good sleep and neither does anyone else.
Learning & Doing
Well, he's an old pro at walking now. He just casually strolls through the house like he's always been walking..NBD. He has had a little more language development this month. He now says the typical mama, dada, and now says buh bye. I love it. He even (sometimes - never on que) waves. He's also developed some separation anxiety and has had some trouble going to church. The cling to your shirt is the absolute worst! It just feels wrong. I know it's good for him to socialize with babies outside of our family, but I never want to force him so that he's scared. It's a very touchy subject for me.
He's going to MMO two days a week, so hopefully that will help him get used to environments that don't involve out immediate family.
Growing
He's a big boy! All 12 month clothes and growing! I do think in the past couple of weeks he's shown signs of slimming up some. One day my chunky little monkey will be a distant memory.
That's why I am SO thankful for these photos of those SQUISHY legs!
Loving
Outside! He loves to be outside. Even when he doesn't feel well - just take him outside! Now that he's a little more stable of a walker I let him walk about in the backyard a lot. He loves to explore!

Ezra man, we love you more than you could ever know. I can not believe a year has nearly past since I saw your sweet puffy cheeks for the first time. I am so grateful for you and what you are teaching me as a mother.
I love you Squiggles/Ezzie/EO/Little Brother!
