Ezra's First Costume!

Thursday, October 15, 2015

I don't about this habit is we have of having babies right before Halloween, but it means that both of our babies' first Halloween have been spent in Pumpkin PJs just hanging out with the family. (Ezra // Jonah ) So, this year is really Ezra's 1st Halloween costume experience and it's so exciting. Like I've said in previous posts, we aren't that into the scary parts of Halloween just yet and have been happy to stick to fun, happy, heroes! Last weekend we got to take the boys and have some fun at Party City. They had a blast deciding what costumes we might like to take home. Of course big brother got to get a matching costume of his choice, plus all the accessories they have to offer... well let me just show you. We took some video and of course lots of photos!

Then, this week while home with the boys, we did a little practice round for the real Trick or Treat and played in the costumes. They loved it. We've been cooped up due to a virus and this was a good distraction and dress rehearsal for the big night in a couple of weeks!

These are the little moments I love to capture. My little guys interacting, having fun together even on a bad day. When I look back at some of our firsts and special memories, here these photos will be. I taught Jonah some of the TMNT theme song and he went around singing it all day. He loves Ninja Turtles even thought the show is a little bit old for him at this point. He knows that they are heroes and work to save the good guys!
I love how nostalgic TMNT makes me feel for my own childhood. Did you watch TMNT or play with the characters as a kid? Bonus points if you can name all the characters!

I think they are ready for Trick or Treating! I think visiting "the wall" at Party City might become a family tradition, plus they have everything else you need right there. Jonah got some "weapons" and he loved that to go with his outfit and we just paired Ezra's with his favorite moccs. I have yet to get them a bucket though for this year! There's still work to do before the big night!

  1. They are too cute! Elise was exactly 2 weeks old last year for Halloween. We do family themed costumes and were Minions per her brother's choosing. In truth, her "costume" was just a bodysuit I found when pregnant that said "My First Halloween" and a Minion hat my mom knitted for her. This year big brother has picked again and we're going as characters from Scooby Doo. You've inspired me - I need to dress my kids up soon and take photos in advance of the big day.
