We are going party crazy at our house these days and I know you are still waiting to see the rest of Ezra's party pictures but in the meantime I wanted to talk about your plans for Halloween!

We are celebrating Halloween all month long in fun festive ways, including a MARVEL's The Avengers: Age of Ultron (DVD/Blue Ray released on Oct 2) Halloween Party complete with our own real live heroes. With these costumes we are ready for Halloween, Jonah’s Super Hero Birthday Party, and a year or so of dressing up. The price on these costumes at Walmart was so good, we got a few to share! They were so excited to dress up, especially because they got to be some of their favorite heroes! Halloween doesn’t have to be about all the ghost and ghouls. We are actually not really into the scary stuff just yet. I like it that way since my kids are little. Dressing up and having a party as heroes is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween in an awesome way.

I hope today's post will inspire you to host your own Halloween party with family and friends. What’s great for the older kids and adults too is you can have movie night. For something not too scary for a mixed crowd we suggest the new MARVEL's The Avengers Age of Ultron. The older kids or adults can watch while the little ones go trick or treating (with some adult supervision of course). It’s a great theme for the whole family!

Here are some details and ideas for you:

First, we used really simple decor again and as you can probably see we reused some of the party decor from Ezra's First Birthday Party. Of all the MARVEL characters, Captain America and Spiderman are probably the most talked about in our house. So, I went with a red, white and blue theme. Plus, this was a little practice for Jonah's 4th Birthday party and his favorite color is red... he always wants red! The balloons and strips of crepe paper provide the backdrop for our treat table!

Our treats included doughnut holes with cupcake topper/toothpicks, cake pops with yogurt coating with red sprinkles, pretzels and I found some Pirate's Booty with MARVEL characters on them! I want to also suggest some other neat ideas I found when looking for inspiration like Thor's Hammer and these Jack-O-Lantern cups!

Another tip I always like to share with people who are planning a party or get-together at their home is go to your grocer or local flower shop and find the flowers they are about to throw out. This adds a little something to make the party come to life, and just makes your home a more welcoming. I was able to score these roses and another smaller, coordinating bouquet for a total of $4! Besides adding to the party, these blooms will still last you at least a week.

Of course what could make a party better than actually getting to dress up?! Just the fact that they got to put their costumes on was enough entertainment for these kids. They spent the evening being heroes and maybe bad guys for a little while too. I couldn't help but take them out all dressed up and capture some awesome heroic moments! They played their parts well!

You can find all of our Party Supplies, Costumes, and MARVEL's The Avengers Age of Ultron DVD/Bluray at Walmart, which makes it super easy and affordable to throw a great Halloween Party on a budget!

How will you celebrate this Halloween? Have you seen the new Avenger's movie yet?

  1. I love the colors you used for your party! We're going to go trick or treating in Seaside where the movie, "The Truman Show" was filmed. A couple of my kids are going to be Avengers characters and I'm really excited! I love Halloween! #client
