Years ago, when I was in graduate school I guess, I began my love affair with the Chai Latte, I loved them, obsessed! Back when I lived/worked near a drive thru Starbucks or three. They reminded me of Christmas and I couldn't get enough of that nostalgic feeling. Then, I became a little burned out and didn't have them as much anymore. I have had one on and off through the past few years, but I wasn't a fan of how our in house coffee shop made them in the years past, but then I decided to risk it about a month ago and bam! I'm addicted. So, of course I have to find my make-at-home version that I love just ask much (or more) than the coffee shop version!
Almond Milk Vanilla Chai Latte
- Chai Classic Latte Concentrate (A rich blend of black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and vanilla.)
- Light Vanilla Almond Milk
- Whipped topping
- Ground Cinnamon
Instructions: Shake Chai Concentrate well, fill mug with equal parts concentrate and milk, stir, heat for 45 seconds to 1 minute depending on microwave (or heat over the stove top until about 212 degrees), add whipped topping and sprinkle cinnamon for a little extra kick and garnish!
If I'm being really honest, I like mine a little on the spicier side, so I may add a little more concentrate than milk. Just a warning though, drinking it this way can make your coffee shop chai latte taste a little boring. ;) Just a sniff of chai will make you wish your heard jingle bells! Adding it to your favorite Christmas mug might make this feeling more intense. You've been warned!
