Create a Simple Holiday Table with Hallmark Gift Wrap

This might be the simplest holiday project you ever do! Have company coming over for a pre-holiday dinner? Just want your table to be set for the holidays just in case? This is so simple, I wish I'd thought of it years ago. I was actually inspired while I was shopping in Hallmark about a month ago, when I grabbed these guys. I started talking to some of the gals that work in our Hallmark store and we chatted about all kinds of projects from fairy gardens to upside down Christmas trees (I don't think I'll be trying that one any time soon, but I'd love to see one).

I picked up a four pack of plaid holiday wrapping paper, each roll is two sided and then all of a sudden I felt like the possibilities were endless. It's been super busy since that day, so I haven't gotten to too many crafts just yet, but I did manage this lovely (if I do say so myself) holiday table setting. I used all items I already had around the house, pulled a few sprigs of Rosemary from the back porch and pulled off a table setting for a small brunch.

 Just for me and the boys of course, but when our biscuits, jam, and honey butter were gone, I set the table for six just in case some guests stop by. This is our dining room, so not our everyday eating place, which means it's easier to keep the little mess makers away. Even so, it's just paper, I can roll out some more or change it to the black and white that's on the other side of the red plaid for a more neutral theme. 

On the table, the base table cloth is a painter's drop cloth from the hardware store. I have two of these on hand for table cloths. I then rolled out my wrapping paper and cut it to a size I liked for the table top and added a burlap table runner the opposite way. 

For the napkins, I cut 6 two and half inch wide strips and secured them with a small piece of washi tape on the back side of the napkin, added a piece of twine and a sprig of Rosemary! I did pull in a blue and green plaid from another roll to mix in some coordinating plaids. 

For a more formal dinner, I may add a fancier centerpiece and a more full place setting, but I still like simple without too much thought!
