Up next on our list of favorite essential oils is Peppermint! My life saver this week! Make sure you read all the way down to find the recipe for these glorious bits of goodness photographed by one of my essential family friends!
Peppermint is one of my favorite and most often used oils! I use peppermint like it is going out of style! I personally love it in water, tea, coffee. I love using in DILUTED on my skin and mixed with Lavender and Lemon in my diffuser. I DO limit it's use around my children, but if I had to choose 1 oil to keep around at all times, it would be peppermint.
The details: Peppermint retails for $28.29 (15ml) and is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for supporting digestion, including promoting healthy intestinal function and gastrointestinal system comfort. Add to a morning tea, to help support your digestive system. It is also a key ingredient found in Young Living's Oil Blend, DiGize.
A few things to keep in mind about Peppermint:
- Peppermint is a hot oil, please keep it away from your eyes – it will burn!
- A good rule of thumb for kids is: 1 and under, avoid Peppermint. 3 and under, Peppermint on feet ONLY. 5 and under, belly button and below ONLY.
- Peppermint has been known to decrease milk supply in nursing mamas. Use sparingly if you are breastfeeding. This effects everyone differently, so remember to just use with extreme caution.
