We celebrated my nephew, Ben's, birthday in April with a super fun Lego Party! My sister's family has just moved into in a new house, so they did a lot of scrambling to put together an awesome birthday party for Ben. It was simple but still tons of fun for the kids!

On the day of the party, it was super overcast and a rainstorm did happen while we were enjoying our Lego cake, so that explains the iffy lighting of the photos. I still wanted to show off how cute everything was depsite the lapse in beautiful weather!

We got to resuse the "5" from Jonah's 5th Birthday! You can find his Trick or Treat Bash here! |
Now for the only part I really helped with for this party, the Semi-Homemade Lego Cake! My sister happened to run across this cake at Walmart with the sprinkles already intact. This is exactly what she'd planned on us making when she saw it on pinterest. Your secret is out Pinterest Party Moms! We see your sprinkle-covered cake! So, the cake and the cupcakes were purchased, sprinkles were added to the cupcakes and we had lots of fun making those fondant lego bricks! We have used some fondant in the past and had some fun with it, so decided to try again! We checked out a few videos but these are the closest to what we made. In all honesty, they look better in person on the cake than they did individually. We had to keep reminding ourselves that we were going to stack them, so it didn't matter if all the sizes were the same. What mattered was Ben got a LEGO cake!
The LEGO cookies were ordered from a cookie shop on Etsy and they were really good! They didn't make it to her perfectly but the kids really enjoyed them! Also, dollar store popcorn for the win! The bags went really far and it was so good!
Duplo LEGOs were used through out the party for playing and for decoration!
After everyone had eaten and the presents were opened, each kid got to get their party favor and build their own race car. They then got to race them on these homemade race tracks!
