It's been hard to focus and be creative over the past few days with all of the news coming out of Texas, but my distraction doesn't even compare, not even a little bit, to those who are being directly affected by Hurricane Harvey and his unending downpour. So, I decided at the last minute to use today's Dream. Create. Inspire link up to hopefully "inspire" some of you to pray, give, volunteer if you can. With the rain still coming down and waters rising, the best thing I believe we can do for our neighbors right now is to pray. Pray for safety, comfort, and hope in the midst of this storm. Pray that God's unending love shines through in the middle of the hardship, the cleanup, the devastation the people of East Texas are experiencing right now.
We are praying for you Texas.

I made this graphic for easy sharing. You can also download it as an 8x8 print here and print as a reminder to pray. Please, if you share, also share the links below so that others can know how they can directly make a difference in the life of our friends in Texas and now parts of Lousiana. |
Here are some helpful links and reputable places to donate where the funds will go directly to those affected by Harvey.
- Convoy of Hope - You can see them already on the ground in Victoria, TX today.
- Samaritans Purse - In need of Volunteers
- Victims of Hurrican Harvey - Fund set up by JJ Watt of the Houston Texans.
Each of the organizations below were recommended by friends (and their friends) who live in the areas affected. If you have an organization you would like added to this list please leave a link in the comments!
- Clear Lake United Methodist Church
- Ecclesia Clear Lake
- Bay Harbour United Methodist Church
- Greater Houston Community Foundation
- Celebration of Life Baytown
Before we go, I had already chosen some pretty DIYs I wanted to share, so I'll still give you a peak and those and hope you have something that inspires you this week!
