One thing I love to change up every season, or more often is our mantle. It's like my play place when I want to try something new. It's fun because it can be a pretty blank canvas.
I've been dying since before Christmas for a large vintage or vintage-inspired mirror, but like I keep reminding myself - the perfect one for the perfect price will come along or I'll move on to a new want! We all have dreams right?! I apparently dream of vintage mirrors or finding one that I can make look vintage, maybe. The mirror that's up there now, may as well be vintage for as long as I have owned that thing! It's been everywhere and I even did a blog post when I converted it into a "window mirror." It's served its purpose to anchor the space and cover the hook-ups for the TV, which I prefer to not be over the mantleover the years, so I'm making it work for a while longer.
As always, I love to use a mix of new and old things that I have collected mostly over time. The milk glass is a mix of items I've collected over the past few years and pieces I found in our collection at our Wilde Olive booth and borrowed for the time being. The same goes for the brass candle sticks... The prints are from a local consignment store and Hobby Lobby. Throw in a water spritzer and chalkboard container turned upside down from Target and wa la! We have a boho botanical inspired mantle.
You'll see that I am currently using a mix of dried and faux greenery, but I am hoping to find the perfect small live plants to add to this room. I'm trying a low light plant on the mantle now in the place of the hydrangea bloom, so we'll see how that goes!
